Daryl Kemsley and his black E90 335i
Social media and automotive enthusiast sites are abuzz with Daryl Kemsley's i8 vandalism and DeLorean fire. A lot of people are calling Daryl shady and saying there's no coincidence for his recent bad luck, but instead fraud and a desperate cry for attention.
A forum post mentioned Daryl was doing this for viral buzz advertisement money for his YouTube channel Throttle. I checked out his channel and saw Daryl's black E90 335i video and instantly recognized that car. Daryl's i8 and DeLorean is the center of attention worldwide, but his 335i is more notorious in the Silicon Slopes.
I worked as a consultant for a tech company and regularly traveled to Lehi. When traveling, we stayed in a nearby town and drove on the highway to work. I distinctly remember a black E90 335i, non-MSport, roof-rack, aftermarket LED angel eye bulbs, blacked out five spoke wheels and license plate cover with missing tow cover driving like the biggest douche around Lehi. Little did I know a few years later that douche was Daryl. Daryl took the same off and on-ramp and we still remember that black 335i swerving erratically and tailgating us all the way through the Thanksgiving Point exit and Timpanogos Highway. Daryl regularly took the right lane off-ramp and we would stay in the left lane and he drove so close we were certain he would rear-end us when we made a left hand turn.
We looked over and saw this Asian guy with glasses that would become the center of recent automotive controversy and gossip.
I would not be surprised if recent events were Daryl's concoctions for an elaborate insurance fraud scheme. Daryl was the biggest douche in his black 335i and drove so recklessly it's in our long-term memory. There were too many close calls.
Nobody on the internet seems to know what Daryl does for a living, despite his claims of making it all on his own. Daryl has never given a straight forward answer about his occupation and many say it's his parent's money. I'm guessing he works at a tech company in Lehi or Thanksgiving Point since we saw him there almost everyday. Sharing this story with coworkers has been been a big wow moment for us, but we aren't surprised.
"Remember that douche in that black E90 335i? That's Daryl Kemsley."
