Use a damp microfiber cloth to gently remove all the dust and grime from the trim. If the trim has stains, use soapy water or a mild degreaser to clean the area.
Once the trim is clean and dry, use Klasse All In One 33 oz.
to remove hairline scratches, swirls, and other minor defects from your wood trim.Apply the Klasse AIO to Zymol Wax Applicator - 3 Pack
or a microfiber cloth and gently rub the wood trim until the Klasse polish is no longer visible. Several applications may be necessary to get the best results. Below are my finished results using Klasse AIO. I was able to remove the light scratches and keep the trim looking new. If you look at the reflection there are no scratches and only the largest chips and etching remained. I recommend giving Klasse AIO a try and feel how silky smooth the wood trim is after polishing.
Notes:
Use light pressure and test a small area before polishing your entire trim.
I do not recommend using Klasse AIO on metal trim because you may see some dulling in the finish.
I was able to achieve great results by hand. I do not think an orbital is necessary for polishing wood trim. If the trim is in really bad condition and you are set on using a machine for polishing, remove the trim so you don't damage the surrounding areas and spray polish everywhere. Do not polish for one area too long as heat may build up and you may mar the surface.
Klasse AIO is amazing and it truly is all in one. Klasse can be used on just about any surface and this guide can be applied to glass, chrome, painted plastics, paint, etc.
